Samsung Tips: Make your transition from other Android devices easier

Since the last few days, Techblog found with a Samsung device, Want to share some tips for easier switching from other Android devices, but also for better configuration.

Autofill service

Anyone who uses Android devices and has been using their Google Account to store their passwords for years will find a major hurdle on Samsung devices. This is because the company is trying to promote its own Cloud services, but it only succeeds in making it difficult for those of us who have had our passwords on Google for years.

So if you are looking for how to change the autofill from Samsung Pass to Google, let me tell you that it is not in any of the places you can search. To enter:

Settings -> General management -> Language and input -> AutoFill service

There you can choose either Google, Samsung Pass, or the service you have chosen to manage your passwords. Unfortunately, there is no indication of how this can be done, nor does it ask us for the first time which service we want, so manual change is the only solution.

Full-screen gestures

Although we are in 2020, any Samsung device you buy right now will find the familiar three virtual navigation buttons. If you have Android 9 or higher, you can change the most outdated buttons to full-screen gestures with the following steps:

Settings -> Appearance -> Navigation Bar -> Select “Full Screen Gestures”

In Android 10 they work as we would expect, with a slide from the right or left going backward, while the slide below works as a home button and is extended as recent. If you have Android 9 then the keys on the screen just change to sliders, as only at the bottom of the screen there are three points for slide, left for the recent, center for home and right for the back. If you do not have Android 10 and want the same gestures system, you can see the following guide:

Alternative to Good Lock [Android 10+]

The Good Lock app is the place where users can configure everything on their Samsung device, from the recent menus, the screen lock, the navigation bar, and generally every point of the operating system. But, unfortunately, Good Lock is not yet available in our country, as in many others.

The solution for us is the indirect way, through the NiceLock application. The NiceLock application is simply a launcher that activates Good Lock and its options.

After downloading the application from the Play Store you will need to put the apk you need one by one, from the points of the operating system that you are interested in changing. The strange thing is that most of the options are in Greek.

All apk files can be found through the application. NiceLock has its own forum at XDA-Developers, where you can find more help if you need anything. The application only supports devices with Android 10 and above.
