Spotify a Swedish-based audio streaming and media services provider which was launched in October 2008 has provided the new features as well as the good services to its customer on a regular basis and now once again it updated for iPhones and iPads with a new Home Screen widget. It provides quick access to recently played playlist, artist, albums, and podcasts and is available in small and medium sizes.
How to access the new Spotify widget:
- First of all, update the Spotify app to version 8.5.80 or later
- Open the app
- Then, tap and hold the widget or an empty area of the home screen until the app icon jiggles
- Tap the plus sign in the top right corner
- Tap on the Spotify in the list, and select the size of the widget
Remember, the Home Screen widgets require iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 or later. The widget only serves as a shortcut to various parts of the Spotify app as Apple doesn’t allow the Home Screen widgets to add playback controls due to battery life considerations.
