Android developer Till Kottmann (@deletescape) found and released by evLeaks broke the news that Lenovo is building up a special device, Lenovo Yoga X. This device is an Android tablet and an auxiliary display.
The large-screen Android tablet will likewise have an auxiliary mode, where it can fill in as an outer display for a PC, smartphone, or even Nintendo Switch through the included micro-HDMI port.
The monitor display mode, the tablet’s Android operating system will be suspended, while the touch screen can be used for brightness, power, and display settings. The tablet will also be able to output audio transmitted through the HDMI port.
The design allows two devices (tablets and external display screens of tablets) to be used in more scenarios, which can bring higher value. It is unclear whether the project is still under development and if/when it will be listed.
