Anyone who has just unpacked their brand new Pixel 6a will experience a week full of strong events right from the start. Big updates are rolling out and you can order your free headphones from Google.
Pre-orderers can grab their Pixel Buds A-Series
Of course, for the free headphones, you must have pre-ordered and ordered your Pixel 6a by August 1st. If so, you can prove your purchase from Google and thus “order” your Pixel Buds A-Series. The free supplement will then hopefully be sent to you quickly, but a longer waiting time is also possible.
Android 13 is rolling out, but not alone
Anyone who is looking forward to new functions and bug fixes will be celebrating the current update rollout. Android 13 finally appears in the final version. But the new Android version has a lot more in tow. Google is rolling out an insanely extensive update to the Pixel phones.
The new August 2022 security patch is also included. But even more blatant is the list of bug fixes and improvements. Google has a whole 150 points on a list here that are not directly related to Android 13. A few of the bug fixes are specific to the Pixel 6a, while many are general to the Pixel phones.
We receive another update via Google System Updates. A few innovations for various Google apps are integrated into the August version.
Android 13 and Co: What else needs to be considered?
Other points are not entirely irrelevant. Those who are already participating in the beta program should unsubscribe now if they do not want to also participate in the beta test for the upcoming quarterly updates. This is still possible for a few days before Android 13 QPR1 Beta 1 rolls out in September.
Last but not least, it is interesting that once you have updated to Android 13, there is definitely no way back for users with Pixel 6 or Pixel 6a . Google has changed the bootloader, so Android 12 can no longer run.
