Cyberpunk 2077: The number of PC players has increased dramatically after Edgerunners

Cyberpunk 2077 has seen a new increase in players on PC (via Steam), following the publication of the Edgerunners update and the arrival of the anime on Netflix. Also, recent discounts may have helped.

The data comes as always from SteamDB. The site shows us how between 9 and 13 September 2022 the number of Cyberpunk 2077 players on Steam traveled between a minimum of 13,000 and a maximum of 28,000. Today, September 16, 2022, the low was 27,700 and the high (up to the time of writing) was 46,500 players.

Among other things, this is not just a surge of today. The number of active players on Steam in Cyberpunk 2077 has increased steadily since September 14. The growth is visible and it is highly likely that the arrival of new content dedicated to Edgerunners, as well as the publication of the anime on Netflix, have prompted new players to buy the game or old users to return to explore Night City.

At the time of writing, Cyberpunk 2077 also beats Path of Exile, Elden Ring, Terraria, Garry’s Mod, Monster Hunter Rise, Red Dead Redemption 2, Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel – just to name a few well-known names – in terms of active players on Steam. However, he remains far from the top 10, as he is only in 21st position. To give you a point of reference, in the first position we find CS: GO with 938,000 players, followed by DOTA 2 with 772,000 and finally PUBG with 393,000 users.

Considering the general distrust of Cyberpunk 2077 and the fact that this data is PC / Steam only, it is clear that the game is in a good moment: we will have to see how long it will last.
