Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 and Redmi K30 Pro receiving new software update

Xiaomi has started rolling out a new firmware update to its Redmi Note 8 and Redmi K30 Pro smartphone users. The latest update brings MIUI 11 based August 2020 security patch & MIUI 12 with new features for Redmi Note 8 and Redmi K30 Pro respectively.

For Redmi Note 8, the device is still running MIUI 11 and MIUI 12 update will be available after the weekly beta testings end.

The latest update comes with the build number V11.0.6.0.PCOINXM (253MB) or V12.0.9.0.QJKCNXM (3.2GB) for Redmi 8 and Redmi K30 Pro respectively.

  • Optimization: Press and hold redirection options
  • Fix: Control center does not display correctly in landscape mode

Dark Mode

  • Optimization: Brightness as well as color improvements for wallpapers in Dark mode

  • Optimization: Full-screen gestures are now ignored on the Lock screen alarm page
  • Fix: Home screen goes black and starts flashing after unlocking in some cases

Status Bar and Notification Bar

  • New: Screen lights up with animation
  • New: Status bar color gradient animation
  • Fix: The status bar does not display correctly with color inversion

Camera

  • Adds front as well as rear dual-view function
  • Includes Al watermark function
  • Adds camera movie mode function
  • It also comes with voice control camera function
  • This update also includes several filter effects for camera and video
  • Optimizes the cute shooting 2.0 function

Others

  • Optimize the AOD interface fingerprint to unlock the splash screen
  • Optimize the data network problem
  • Fixes the occasional inability to exit the display
  • Tackles the occasional inability to recognize the headset
