WhatsApp new features reveals: will support multi-device synchronization chat history

According to mspoweruser, a few weeks ago it was reported that WhatsApp is working on a way to allow you to use the same account on multiple devices.

Important Note:

  • It’s not possible to use your WhatsApp account on multiple devices currently.
  • This feature is under development: it means WhatsApp is still working on it and it will be released in a future update.
  • When there will be other details about the feature, WABetaInfo is going to publish an announcement.

At present, your account is bound to physical devices such as mobile phones and phone numbers, instead of just logging in with a username and password, which means you can only use WhatsApp on one device at a time.

The whistleblower WABetaInfo found that this situation is about to change. Facebook has created a new UI that allows users to link multiple devices (up to 4) and use them at the same time.

Today WABetaInfo reported that Facebook is still working on a way to synchronize your message history from one device to another.

This function requires your device to be connected to WiFi. Due to the relatively large amount of data, the transmission will be required. In addition, the data will remain encrypted during transmission.

After the data is transferred, the linked devices should stay in sync, because all future information will be delivered to all devices. This feature is still under development and it is not clear when Facebook will launch it.

Note –  iOS <–> Android is not confirmed yet. It should work but wait for future confirmation.

WhatsApp was previously working to convert the iOS database to the one compatible with the Android format. We’re looking for more references in the future. This feature is under development and it will be available in the future.
