NASA’s Kennedy Space Center confirms first case of new corona pneumonia

According to foreign media Space reports, the first coronavirus positive case of NASA’s Kennedy Space Center (KSC) was confirmed in Florida on March 23 local time.

According to a report by Florida Today on March 23rd, Eastern Time, NASA Kennedy Space Center in Florida confirmed the first case of a new type of coronavirus infection on Monday, and its test result was positive.

NASA’s Kennedy Space Center spokesman Tracy Young said: The employee last appeared at the center more than 10 days ago. Based on this employee’s situation at the scene and the elapsed time, we believe that it was infected after the start of remote work, and the confirmed patient will not bring additional risks to the center.

NASA Director Jim Bridenstine announced last week that all agency employees, except mission-critical personnel, work remotely from home. This has escalated the Kennedy Space Center’s response to the coronavirus pandemic to Phase III—forced remote work, restricted travel, and mission-critical personnel with limited center access.
