Intel: 12th generation Core high-performance mobile version shipped

Intel executive vice president and general manager of the client business unit Gregory M Bryant confirmed via Twitter today that the Alder Lake-P 12-generation Core high-performance mobile version is being shipped to customers.

At the same time, he also released a set of photos of nearly 30 members of the team, each holding an Alder Lake-P processor.

Intel’s 12th-generation Core mobile version will be officially released at the CES 2022 conference early next year. The process and architecture are the same as the desktop version. It uses a BGA Type 3 package with a size of 50×25×1.3 mm. The internal integration of up to 6 P cores and 8 E core, a total of 14 cores and 20 threads, while integrating a 96-unit Xe core display.

Three models of this series have been exposed, namely i9-12900HK, i7-12800H, and i7-12700H , all of which are 6P+8E core designs. The flagship model i9-12900HK P core has a frequency of 2.9-5.0GHz and thermal design power consumption. 45W+, the other two are 45W.

As for the separately exposed i7-1270P and i5-1260P, the specific identities have not yet been confirmed.

This will be the first time that Intel has adopted a hybrid architecture design in the high-performance mobile market. Lakefield in 2020 is mainly aimed at ultra-low power consumption devices, and is more of a test of the water.
