Huawei Mate X2: Patent Confirms Design, Will It Come With Built-in Pen?

A few days ago we saw a video that showed us the final design of the Mate X2, Huawei’s upcoming foldable. As we have seen, the screen now folds inwards, just like in the Galaxy Fold, with a small screen that will act as an external screen when the device is turned off.

Although it was a concept, it seems that this design is confirmed by Huawei itself. The company had filed a patent in May 2019, which was published today.

The patent consists of 23 pages and even includes a color image of what the device will look like, which means that it is already at an advanced stage of development, at least in terms of design.

In addition to the design confirmation, it is confirmed that there will be no external display on the device, except for a small part that will host the cameras and will function as an alert screen.

We also see that the device will have a built-in pen, without knowing details. We already know that Samsung did not use the S Pen in the Galaxy Z Fold 2 due to the sensitivity of the foldable screens.

While Huawei’s phones are more or less useless in the West at present, we imagine this situation may change come November this year.
