Huawei is expected to continue to surpass Samsung as the leading brand in the mobile phone market in the second quarter

Global smartphone sales showed a downward trend in the second quarter of this year, and Samsung seemed to be the hardest hit. Therefore, Huawei is expected to surpass Samsung in the second quarter of 2020 and become the leading smartphone brand in the market.

According to the report, shipments of Samsung equipment are expected to decline by 30%.On the other hand, shipments of Huawei smartphones have only declined slightly. Therefore, it seems that Huawei will surpass Samsung in the second quarter of 2020 and become the world’s largest smartphone manufacturer. Huawei has already led the market in smartphone shipments in April and May, and now it seems to continue the momentum throughout the quarter.

In terms of market share, the domestic market seems to be working. Samsung’s market share in mainland China is less than 1%, while Huawei occupies more than 60% of the market.

In May, Huawei shipped 81.97 million units, with a market share of 19.7%, while Samsung followed closely with a market share of 19.6%.In comparison, Huawei’s market share in April was 21.4%, while Samsung’s market share was 19.1%.

According to estimates by SK Securities in South Korea, Huawei’s mobile phone shipments were 55 million units from April to June, while Samsung’s was only 51 million.
