Facebook announced the launch of a new section

According to foreign media reports, Facebook recently announced that it will launch a new section on the platform specifically for rumors of new corona virus-related information. This is also the company’s latest initiative to prevent the spread of false information surrounding the new coronavirus. Previously, the company also issued push notifications to encourage everyone to wear masks and mark misleading posts as false content.

Facebook and its family applications have nearly 3 billion monthly active users. The company said on Twitter that it will launch a new “Facts About Covid-19” section within the app and on the web, which is used to “debunk common rumors related to the pandemic.”

The sample screenshots were shown in the post-show that Facebook uses the World Health Organization as a trusted source of information and lists some simple factual statements, such as “There is no evidence that hydroxychloroquine can cure, treat or prevent new coronavirus.”
