ColorOS 13 available, here is the official roadmap

Oppo today announced the global release on the first smartphones of ColorOS 13, a proprietary user interface based on the Android 13 operating system and officially presented about ten days ago. On the occasion, the Chinese company shared several important details of the OS which, as we will see shortly, is characterized by an intuitive visual experience and a user-friendly interface made possible by the adoption of Aquamorphic Design.

AQUAMORPHIC DESIGN

Let’s start from this: for Aquamorphic Design Oppo means a fluid, dynamic and inclusive interface inspired by water: on ColorOS 13

  • Change the font, now easier to read in different languages
  • The Card-styled Layout debuts
  • There are particular Aquamorphic effects in the system animations, in the interface and in the Quantum Animation Engine (which provides for user actions)
  • An unprecedented palette of themes is introduced which incorporates the variations of light on the sea at sunrise and sunset
  • Minimal illustrations, screen size adaptive layouts and intuitive icons are integrated
  • New Always-On Display images called Homeland debut (featuring wild animals and nature to raise awareness of climate change)

In short, there is no doubt that the company took a cue from nature to customize its latest version of the user interface.

SMART PERFORMANCE AND FUNCTIONS

To optimize performance and make it more fluid and stable, Oppo has internally developed the Dynamic Computing Engine, a solution that allows you to

  • Increase battery life through improved hardware resource scheduling
  • Keep multiple applications open in the background while ensuring fast switching between apps without losing information

The smart functions allow the user to access the data they need more easily and quickly: with the Smart Always-On Display, for example, it is possible to always keep an eye on the information on the app – food delivery, for example, as well as the music you are listening to. On Oppo Find X5 Pro – equipped with LTPO 2.0 display – the AOD refresh rate is reduced to 1Hz to achieve energy savings of up to 30%.

Smart features at a glance:

  • Smart Always-On Display
  • Large Folder
  • Shelf
  • Home Screen Widget
  • Meeting Assistant for online meetings: Automatically prioritizes wireless networks for a more stable connection and optimizes the display of notifications. You can also add the Oppo Notes shortcut
  • Multi-screen Connect: connectivity between smartphone and Oppo Pad Air / PC to transfer files

PRIVACY AND SECURITY

With ColorOS 13 the new security features of Android 13 are integrated :

  • Deletion of notes after a certain time
  • Nearby WiFi for using WiFi without leaving location indications
  • Auto Pixelate: Automatically blur profile photos and names in chat screens
