Canon announced that it is developing a full-frame micro camera EOS R5. The new full-frame micro camera EOS R5, currently under development, will support high-speed continuous shooting and 8K video shooting. The Canon EOS R5 is the first of a new generation of full-frame micro-cameras in the EOS R system, and will be equipped with a newly developed CMOS image sensor.
In addition to EOS R5, Canon also plans to launch 9 RF lenses in 2020, including RF100-500mm F4.5-7.1 L IS USM, teleconverter RF1.4X and RF2X.
Canon EOS R5 features include:
- Newly developed CMOS image sensor
- 20fps (electronic shutter) / 12fps (mechanical shutter)
- 8K video shooting
- Camera body shake correction function (Canon is equipped for the first time), realizing collaborative IS image stabilization system (body image stabilization + RF lens image stabilization)
- Dual card slot + cloud platform image automatic transmission
- 9 RF lenses (released in 2020)
