Android 11: Adds hidden recycling bin for photos and videos

One of the main problems with many operating systems is that once you delete a file, it disappears forever. Google is changing the data and adding a hidden recycling bin to Android 11.

A radical change in file management

The recycling bin is one of the most important additions to the latest version of Google’s operating system. According to the company itself, the feature is called ” scoped storage ” and its operation is mainly subject to developers.

Scoped storage dramatically changes the way applications can access or not access user files. On Android 11, when a file is deleted it will be transferred to the recycle bin and will remain there for 30 days.

If the user does not choose to restore the file, it will be deleted automatically after 30 days. Until then, this file will take up space on the smartphone. Understandably, the Android 11 “Recycle Bin” works much like the Windows Recycle Bin.

The “recycling bin” of Android 11 has already been identified by the first Developer Preview. Since then, some changes have been made, while in its final form it is expected to be accessible through file management applications or through the respective application, which will only display the files that it has deleted.
