According to 9to5Mac, TikTok may face a US ban, depending on whether Microsoft’s acquisition can pass. Facebook was found to be testing a short video feature.
A survey conducted by investment bank Piper Sandler this spring showed that more than 60% of American teenagers use TikTok at least once a month, while the proportions using Twitter and Facebook are 41% and 36%, respectively.
9to5Mac pointed out that software engineer Roneet Michael told Matt Navarra that Facebook now intends to launch short video features in its main application.
Previously, Facebook launched Instagram Reel, a short video application in the United States and more than 50 other countries and regions on August 5, aiming to challenge its competitor TikTok.
