WhatsApp, the popular messaging app, has announced that it will add several new features with an upcoming update, some of which have already appeared in the beta version of the app by mistake.
Initially, the application adds the option to create a new contact via QR code. Each user will have a separate password, with the application allowing the use of technology to quickly add a person. Also, animated stickers make their appearance official, making users’ conversations even more interactive. Another feature is to extend the image of an interlocutor during a Video Group Call (up to 8 people are allowed in the group). For users of the desktop version of the application, WhatsApp announced that Dark Mode will be available, something that has been around for a long time for mobile app users, but not on PC.
Finally, users of the service who use a mobile phone with KaiOS will now be able to access the Status feature, which is something similar to Stories on Facebook. Dark Mode and Status in KaiOS are already available with the latest update of the application, while all the above features are expected in the coming weeks.
