Xiaomi Redmi 9 becomes the first phone to get September 2020 security patch update Globally. This update brings the latest September 2020 patch along with some optimizations. September 2020 patch update installs Android patches to improve system security.

This update is based on MIUI 11 for the Global variant and users still waiting for MIUI 12. The MIUI 12 update already received by the Indian and Chinese variants of the Redmi 9.
