WHO Launching an App to Fight Fake News

As the world governments attempt to stop the present pandemic, WHO is attempting to forestall the spread of falsehood. With an end goal to fight the spread of deception through web-based life, the WHO is planning to dispatch an authority application for Android, iOS and the web.

The COVID-19 causing Coronavirus is still everywhere around the globe and the whole world is attempting to battle this scourge. Be that as it may, besides battling this savage infection, we saw many significant organizations finding a way to forestall the spread and dissemination of phony news and falsehood around the networks. Presently, the WHO is building up its own application that will give significant and forward-thinking data on the SARS-COV-2 pandemic to clients.

The application, starting at now, is named “WHO MyHealth” and was at first proposed by a group of specialists named “The Covid App Collective”. The group incorporates some previous Microsoft and Google representatives alongside WHO wellbeing guides and specialists.

Presently, the application is worked as an open-source venture and is set to dispatch on iOS and Android on March 30. As the open-source nature of the application, 9to5Mac had the option to get their hands on an underlying rendition of the application. As per them, the early form of the application contains similar data as the WHO WhatsApp chatbot.

However, according to the developer notes, the app will be able to do a lot more than that. It will be offering information based on the location of the user. This means that users will be able to get the latest updates about the disease near them and in their preferred languages. There is also a mention of a “self-triage” tool that will help users to diagnose whether they have COVID-19 symptoms or not.

Apart from this, there is one interesting feature that may or may not make its way to the final release of the app. This involves tracking users’ location history to see if they have come in contact with any contagious person or not. However, this will pose a privacy risk for the users as the app needs to access the in-depth location history of the device.

Now, despite these efforts by the WHO and other organizations, there are still people who are taking this pandemic casually. Please, we request you to be responsible and follow the WHO guidelines as much as you can and stay indoors. It’s better to Netflix and chill than go out and infect!

Presently, in spite of these endeavors by the WHO and different associations, there are still individuals who are taking this pandemic calmly. If it’s not too much trouble we demand you to be capable and follow the WHO rules as much as you can and stay inside. It’s smarter to Netflix and chill than go out and taint!
