Apple previously restricted its OS to not change the default mail app on their devices but on the latest iOS/iPadOS version 14 the company made this option easier and allowed users to set the default mail app as per their choices.
Users who run the latest iOS 14 and iPadOS 14 updates on their devices can now set any of the third-party options as their default mail app. Below you can check the available default app names.
These Mail Apps can be set as default in iOS 14:
- Airmail
- Boomerang
- Canary
- Gmail
- Hey
- Outlook
- Polymail
- Spark
- Spike
- Twobird
- Yandex.Mail
There are only 11 mail Apps available for now even the Yahoo is missing. To use this feature, all you need to update your device to the latest iOS 14 version. Just Go to Settings -> General -> Software Update, and install the iOS 14 update.

1. First, launch the Settings app on your iPhone. Scroll down to find Gmail, and tap on it.
2. Search the “Default Mail App” option and tap on it.
3. Click on Gmail to select it as the default mail app.
