The Mountain View tech giant Google new Tensor chip core code name exposed

Google on its latest product lineup added the new Pixel 6 series powered by the company’s own Tensor chip. Various leaks and reports before launch suggested that this SoC was developed in collaboration with Google and Samsung, and manufactured using Samsung’s 5nm process. According to Anandtech, some global users have discovered the core code name of the Tensor chip, whose naming rules are very similar to those of the Samsung Exynos 2100 chip.

Google Tensor’s kernel code name is S5E9845 , while Samsung Exynos 2100 is S5E9840. This implies that the Tensor chip actually does not have much self-developed content, and it is still based on Samsung Exynos SoC. Google has not announced the details of the chip, but according to the current exposure scores, the performance of the Tensor chip is indeed slightly higher than that of the Exynos 2100.

Some global developers found the detailed specifications of Google’s Tensor SoC in the Pixel 6 Pro system, but they have not been officially confirmed:

In addition to this chip’s flagship CPU, Google also designed a dedicated processing unit for machine learning operations, image processing, etc., and also has a Tensor security core. This design is very different from Exynos 2100.

Twitter user @andreif7 also released a screenshot showing that the codename of the Tensor chip in the Android system is “Exynos”.
