The first Huawei smartphone without Google Play in Greece

The first Huawei smartphone model officially without Google Play and without the well-known YouTube, Gmail, Maps, Chrome, Drive and Photos apps will be released in Greece in the coming days. Called Huawei P40 Lite E and results from the Contras between America and Huawei launched last May and left without Google Mobile Services (GMS) the Chinese manufacturer of Android devices.

The P40 Lite E and the upcoming P40 series ( coming out in April ) will not have the popular Google Play where all Android users download popular apps and games today. Instead, the new Huawei models will have their own application store and instead of GMS, they will have HMS (Huawei Mobile Services).

In terms of technicalities, the new Huawei P40 Lite E comes with low-end technical features and specifically a 6.39 ″ LCD HD IPS + 1560 × 720 pixel display, Kirin 710F processor, 4GB RAM, 64GB built-in memory (accepts micro SD), triple camera 48MP + 8MP + 3D ToF, 8 Megapixel selfie, micro USB slot, 4000 mAh battery and running Android 9 with EMUI 9.1.

The P40 Lite E is essentially the Huawei Y7p model released in Thailand last month and is currently priced at € 163 in Poland (starting price of € 272). In Greece, we expect it within the next few days with a price that has not yet been announced.
