Samsung Galaxy S20 sales bleak at the time of the epidemic

According to Korean media, THE ELEC, Samsung Galaxy S20 series sales are not very good, due to the global economic downturn caused by the new coronavirus (COVID-19) and reduced subsidies to telecommunications companies.

Foreign media said that Samsung’s latest flagship smartphone, the Galaxy S20, is expected to sell less than its predecessor, the Galaxy S10, due to backlogs. Samsung has also fundamentally reduced the demand for S20 parts.

Samsung usually changes its strategy after monitoring sales in the first three months of the year. Sales of the Galaxy S10 in the first few months of 2019 were pretty good, but sales were down from the second quarter.

The Samsung Galaxy S20 series, Samsung had predicted that its S20 + would have the highest sales, but the results were unexpected, and the S20 Ultra received the most pre-orders. Insiders said: “The pre-order volume of the Galaxy S20 Ultra accounts for more than 50% of the total transaction volume.”

Interestingly, this is not the first time that Samsung has made a mistake. In 2019, Samsung had predicted that the S10 will have the highest sales, but in fact, the S10 + has achieved the best sales.

As more competing products are released next, it is expected that the Samsung Galaxy S20 series will also face more intense market competition.
