Samsung began to move its display production line to Vietnam

In the past few years, many technology companies will transfer some manufacturing plants from China to other countries. They do this to expand their supply chain, so as to ensure that the supply is not affected at all times. Samsung is no exception. Recently, Samsung officially announced that it will move its computer monitor business to Vietnam.

Samsung Electronics of Vietnam announced that Samsung Display will transfer most of its display manufacturing plants from China to the Samsung HCMC CE Complex (SEHC) factory in Vietnam.

Currently, Samsung is the largest single foreign investor in Vietnam with a total investment of US$17 billion. The shift of the PC monitor factory will make Vietnam the world’s largest supplier of Samsung monitors.

Media Tuoi Tre said: “Samsung regards Vietnam as an important gateway to other Southeast Asian countries and has become a link in its global supply chain.”

According to data from IDC, Samsung led Vietnam’s 24-inch and larger display market segment in the first quarter of 2020, with a market share of 34%. As the demand for larger screen sizes continues to grow, the region will benefit from the process of producing the latest displays locally.

It is reported that Samsung is expected to relocate its display production line by the end of 2020.
