Samsung and Corning are working together to develop Ultra Thin Glass

The latest information from sources in South Korea confirms that Samsung will use Ultra-Thin Glass in the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2. The company has already placed the order from Dowoo Insys and Schott, the companies that produced UTG for the Galaxy Z Flip.

However, it seems that Samsung wants to reduce the cost of producing screens on its foldable devices. Corning will also help in this effort, with which it has started cooperation to accelerate growth and create a new production unit in the United States, according to sources in Korea.

The plan is to develop an Ultra-Thin Glass from Corning, which we will see in 2021 foldable smartphones. they also increase the total weight of the devices that have these screens.

Corning has been planning to create a glass for foldable devices since last year, with reports so far announcing the final product at the end of 2020. Working with Samsung will help the company improve its technology and accelerate the production line.
