On September 04, the Indian govt. banned 118 apps from China on the grounds of information security, including PUBG Mobile which was highly recommended by Indian Prime Minister Modi. After that, Blue Hole immediately severed its connection with Tencent and started looking for a local agent/operator in India.

Blue Hole also issued an official statement stating: “It has decided not to provide Indian authorization to Tencent, and hopes to work with the Indian government to find a solution that will allow gamers to enter the Indian battlefield again while fully complying with Indian laws and regulations”.

According to the Sensor Tower report, Tencent’s “PUBG Mobile” still ranked first in the global mobile game revenue list and download list in August 2020.
