Release: Android 11 Developer Preview 2.1

A month ago, tech giant Google released two developer previews of Android 11, and now Google is releasing another fix. The most recent update fixes a few bugs and issues that developers might be encountering with the Developer preview 2. The new fix is named as Developer preview 2.1 and not DP3. You can look at the Changelog beneath and download the Android 11 system pictures from underneath:

Android 11 Developer Preview 2.1 (April 2020): Changelog

This minor update to Android 11 Developer Preview 2 includes the following fixes and changes:

General

  • Fixed an issue where a crash would occur when long-pressing to select an element within the recent apps overview.
  • Fixed an issue where the status bar could crash in the background if its components weren’t all initialized yet.
  • Fixed an issue where too many WindowTokens were created by SystemUI causing jankiness and dropped frames when navigating and scrolling apps.

Apps

  • Fixed an issue where the Wear OS app could crash when trying to pair a Wear OS device.
  • Fixed an issue where the Settings app could crash after tapping the search bar in the app.

If you own any pixel device, you can download the Android 11 system images and manually flash the update using the Android flash tool.
