Whatsapp will No Longer Work On These Devices After 31 Dec 2018
As long we walk towards more advanced technologies, we have to leave old technologies behind. as Whatsapp is updating their app on a regular interval and offering new features to the customers, the app needs some new android functionalities to work. The biggest name in the instant messaging market has announced that they will stop support for some older smartphones from 31 Dec 2018. That mense many users who are still using old smartphones will no longer be able to use Whatsapp on their phone.
" We'll no longer actively develop for these operating systems, some features might stop functioning at any time. If you currently use an older operating system, we recommend upgrading to a newer version...,"
Whatsapp has also shared a list of smartphones that will not be supported by WhatsApp after the date. Some of those devices has already stopped supporting the app and many of them will stop supporting after 2018. in 2017 the app stops support for windows phone 8.0, blackberry Os, and this year Nokia S40 Series will stop supporting WhatsApp. the company also confirmed they will end up supporting Android Gingerbread and iPhone with iOS 7 at the end of 2019.
Now you must have check if your phone will still be supporting WhatsApp or not. if your smartphone falls any of below categories, WhatsApp will no longer work on your smartphone.
- Android versions older than 2.3.3
- Windows Phone 8.0 and older
- iPhone 3GS/iOS 6
- Nokia Symbian S60
- BlackBerry OS and BlackBerry 10
