HP has launched its first Chromebook with an AMD processor

HP has finally launched two new models in its Chromebook 14 lineup products. One amazing thing about these variants is that they are the very first in the history of Chromebooks to actually run on AMD processors, old variants have so far only stuck with running their on Intel and ARM-based processors.

However, this base models run on the new 6W AMD A4-9120C processors, 2 cores /2 threads, 1.6GHz base clock or a 2.4GHz boost clock, and of course, Radeon R4 graphics along with a 1366x768 resolution display.

The more expensive set of these models run on different mechs. A new 6W AMD A6-9220C processor, with similar 2 cores/2 threads, a 1.8GHz base clock/2.7GHz boost clock, the higher Radeon R5 graphics and a 1920x1080 touchscreen display.

Note that both models have 2x USB-C ports and 2x USB-A ports, 32GB eMMC storage and 4GB memory. They both weigh 3.4lb and have a battery life of about 9 hours and 15 minutes. The base model is priced at $269 and the more expensive model is $299.
