Apple will launch a preview of iOS 14 in its first online WWDC keynote next week, but because of the leaked version circulating on the Internet this spring, people already know many details about the new operating system.
Today 9to5Mac reported that new news shows that the update will also include changes to the podcast application. IOS 14 Podcasts may contain a “For You” option similar to Apple Music, which recommends podcast content based on personal preferences to help better discover content.
Podcast creators can choose to develop bonus content for their podcasts, similar to movie add-on content, and user profiles let you see what types of podcasts your friends are listening to.
Apple has been increasing its podcasting efforts to better compete with Spotify. Recent rumors indicate that Apple is developing original podcasts, which will be exclusive to the podcast app.
Apple is also working hard to create audio by-products of movies and TV shows on Apple TV+, but it is also seeking to buy original shows that may adapt to future TV+ content.
Apple competitor Spotify has been investing a lot of money in original content and has bought some famous podcasts.
