Microsoft is working hard to remind Windows 10 users to upgrade to a supported version

Microsoft has been quite tough in urging Windows users to update to the latest version of the Windows 10 operating system, but it has also caused strong dissatisfaction among the Windows community and users.

Over the past year, Microsoft’s mandate has been greatly reduced as users have more control over whether and when to update Windows 10 systems.

The latest version of Windows 10, Microsoft is testing a rather subtle reminder to inform users that it no longer supports its OS version.

The small banner on the Windows Update page appears as:

“Your Windows 10 version has ended support. By updating to a newer version of Windows 10, your device will continue to receive important quality updates.”

Microsoft now uses milder language reminders, without mentioning terrible security holes and other issues.

Of course, Microsoft is only testing the reminder statement, and Microsoft may find that they need to be more confident to let users press the update button.
