Microsoft has announced the release of .NET 5.0 Preview 3, which contains a set of new features and performance improvements. This version includes .NET 5.0.0 Preview 3 and .NET SDK 5.0.100 Preview 3 . In addition, ASP.NET Core and EF Core were also released on the same day.
Visual Studio compatibility: .NET 5 Preview 3 requires Visual Studio 2019 16.6 Preview to take full advantage of all its features. .NET 5 Preview 3 will not work properly in earlier versions of Visual Studio.
Some improvements in Preview 3 are as follows:
- Improvement of code quality in RyuJIT
- System.Text.Json improvements
- .NET SDK support for .NET Framework assemblies
