Microsoft releases KB4539602 update: Black wallpaper issue fixed

Microsoft stopped official support for Windows 7 on January 14, 2020, and released the KB4534310 update on the same day, but some users have reported that their desktop wallpapers have changed after the update. In the dark, Microsoft released the KB4539602 update today.

The Microsoft KB4539602 update includes a fix to the wallpaper becoming black (stretching causes black wallpaper to display). Windows 7 SP1 and Server 2008 R2 SP1 users who encounter this problem can manually check Windows Update in the Control Panel And install the update. Users can also download the KB4539605 update (including 32 / 64-bit version) via the official website link.

Before applying this patch, Microsoft recommends that users install the SHA-2 (KB4474419) and SSU Services Stack (KB4490628) updates. If users do not plan to install KB4539605 wallpaper repair program, they can also choose “fill”, “adapt” and other display modes.
