Microsoft has revealed this news in the official blog, they said that the “Microsoft Teams” video call background blur function is landing on the iPhone and iPad platforms.
Microsoft said: “Focus on you, not the background behind you. We are happy to introduce this frequently used feature from the desktop to your iPhone and iPad.
The background blur function on the iOS side and the desktop side will use AI image recognition technology to isolate the user’s body from the background and blur the background to let the user focus on the call.
Background blur technology is also the basis of Microsoft’s new “custom background” feature, which has been promoted to the desktop since recent weeks. It is unclear whether the iOS application will have a richer “custom background” function in the future.
