Microsoft Chromium Edition Edge 82 Developer Edition Adds Extended Sync

When Microsoft launched its new Chromium version of the Edge browser extension, synchronization was one of its many missing features. Every time the Edge browser is set up on a new device, the user must manually install the extension.

Microsoft seems to have performed A / B testing of the extended synchronization function in the previous version of Edge Canary, but today, the extended synchronization function has been launched in Edge Canary 82.451.0 and Edge Dev 82.0.446.0.

Users who get support will get a pop-up “sync update” image, telling you that you can now sync extensions on all logged-in devices. In addition, accessing the sync settings menu will show new options for the blue switch via the sync extension.

In addition to the extended synchronization capabilities, this Edge Canary / Edge Dev version is also testing the ability to synchronize “collections” between other devices. But other sync options (such as history and open tabs) are still unavailable, and hopefully, Microsoft can add them soon.
