MediaTek announced the economical 5G SoC Dimensity 720

MediaTek has entered progressively in the game 5G, offering as of now SoC with incorporated 5G modem, however for the most part for the high-end category. Today the organization declared the first SoC of the Density 700 series, which is required to be very efficient.

The Density 720 is made with the 7nm method, with its eight cores consisting of two Cortex-A76 cores and six Cortex-A55, while the Mali-G57 assumes the role of GPU. The chipset can support LPDDR4X technology RAM and memory up to UFS 2.1. The SoC modem supports sub-6GHz, with the company counting on 5G UltraSave technology for less power consumption.

In addition to the above, the SoC can support 90Hz refresh screens and support HDR10 +, Bluetooth 5.1, 64MP camera, or dual camera with combinations of up to 20MP and 16MP sensors, with support for 4K video capture. The Density 720 is expected to power economical 5G devices, so we expect the prices of each device around 200 euros.
