iPhone 9 supports Touch ID plus Car Key iOS 13.4.5

Apple pushed the beta update of iOS / iPadOS 13.4.5 developer preview , to start a new round of iOS / iPadOS system testing, Foreign media 9to5Mac previously found a reference to the “iPhone 9” new model in the iOS 14 code. Information about the entry-level new iPhone also appeared in the latest iOS 13.4.5 Beta firmware released today.

Apple continues to develop new CarKey APIs in-house, which will make it possible to unlock, lock and activate cars using the iPhone and Apple Watch. What’s changed in iOS 13.4.5 is that the CarKey API now includes code that first mentions iPhone compatibility with Touch ID.

CarKey can be used with Express Transit Card technology without biometric authentication. Although Express Transit mode is available on iPhone 6s and later, the mode with power reserve is only used on iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone 11 models.

Apple iOS 13.4.5 clearly shows that there is an iPhone model with built-in Touch ID and compatibility with CarKey and Express Transit card functions with power reserve. Since the iPhone 8 does not have a combination of these features, the code may refer to the new iPhone 9 that has been leaked in the iOS 14 code.

In another line of iOS 13.4.5 Beta, Apple added a message stating “Your device does not support Car Key.” This convinced us that older iPhone models will not have CarKey functionality.

According to the news, Apple iPhone 9 will be the 4.7-inch successor to iPhone 8. With Touch ID, its design is almost the same as iPhone 8, but internally upgraded to A13 processor , the rear Apple Logo will move to the center of the back. Apple will also develop the “iPhone 9 Plus” with a larger 5.5-inch display, but it will not be released in April.
