How to Sync and restore your contacts for free with Google Drive

We have all more or less found ourselves in the awkward position of erasing our contacts, either from acquired speed, or because we did something wrong on our nerves, or because we were just confused.

But in the age of the Cloud and the free synchronization of our data, there is a solution for all our lost files. Let’s see how we can save and restore our contacts via Google Drive.

Enable sync

To reset, we must first synchronize our contacts in Google Cloud. To do this:

Settings -> Accounts -> Select our Gmail account -> Sync

There we find all the data we can sync to our Google Account, such as calendar, Chrome history, and more. We are currently interested in the Contacts option. We enable the option and our contacts will be synchronized automatically the next time we are connected to WiFi.

Restore contacts

If you’ve deleted one or more contacts and want to recover them, Google allows you to restore changes made to your contacts up to 30 days in advance.

All you have to do is log in to contacts.google.com from any browser on your mobile, tablet or computer. After logging in with the Gmail details you used to enable sync, select the gear icon (far right, left of your profile picture) and select ” Undo Changes “.

You can then choose from 10 minutes before to one week before, or select the “Customize” field to choose to restore your contacts up to 30 days before.
