Google Chat coming in 2021, Hangouts to retire

The latest rumors and news related to Google Chat is still ON and it is said that the next year’s Google Chat will finally replace the Hangouts and one of the most used discussion group chat by the end of 2021 Hangouts is going to retire. Through Google Chat users will be able to move their conversations, contacts, and history to the new Chat platform.

If you are wondering how Google Chat be different? So it is simple, Hangouts features like direct and group messaging will definitely available in Google Chat and helpful additions like send to inbox, faster search, emoji reactions and suggested replies.

“With Chat, you can more easily plan with others on goals and similar interests, share and collaborate on files, and assign tasks to help keep everyone on the same page. In addition, Chat features the same strong phishing protections we built in Gmail, so if a link is sent to you via Chat, it will be checked against real-time data from Safe Browsing and flagged if it’s found to be malicious,” explained Google.

Moreover, Google has recently given a new look to G Suite with more “integrated experience”.  Also, in Google Workspace, you can create a new Google Doc within the chat window itself and everyone in the chat group will automatically get access to the Doc.
