Counterpoint: 2021 Q4 global PC shipments increased by 3.1%

According to the latest information from the research firm Counterpoint announced the global PC shipment information for the fourth quarter of 2021. Statistics show that the global PC grew by 3.1% year-on-year in the quarter.

In the fourth quarter of 2021, important components such as power chips, WiFi modules, and I/O chips were severely in short supply, affecting computer shipments. Major manufacturers are making efforts to deal with the uncertainty brought about by the new crown epidemic.

Lenovo still maintained its lead in the fourth quarter, with PC shipments reaching 21.7 million units, accounting for 24% of the market .

The second place is HP, with a market share of 20.5%, a year-on-year increase of 1%. Dell shipped 17.2 million PCs in the fourth quarter, up 15 percent year-over-year. In addition, Apple’s MacBook market share was 6.7% , with shipments of 7.2 million units.

Canalys statistics show that global PC shipments will exceed 340 million units in 2021, a year-on- year increase of 15%, but the growth momentum is expected to slow down in 2022.
