Without knowing if the idea had really developed enough or if it was just one of the initial concepts they were considering, Infinity Ward had a Zombie Mode for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare in its plans. Exactly what happened and the company changed its mind is something we will not learn, but it is certain that we will never see this mode again.
Aaron Beck, head craftsman of Infinity Ward, gives us through his Instagram account a first taste of the Zombie Mode that the group had structured, after first getting consent from the organization. In the photos, we see a Russian warrior of the special forces having two four-legged machines, which hold the zombies with lashes.
Although he believes that it would be fun to enter this mode, unfortunately, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare does not offer anything similar. It could be added to Call of Duty: Warzone, but the director of the studio’s creative department had said that the title wants to focus on authentic experience in the real world, without being able to just zombie in such a game.
On the other hand, we are already waiting for the next title in the Call of Duty series, which will be released in the fourth quarter of the year. The revelation may not have happened by now and the company may want to see reactions about whether people are still interested in Zombie Mode or whether the love we had when we first saw it has simply faded.
