Benchmark: HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G as fast as Qualcomm Snapdragon 855

Huawei announced the new mid-range HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G a few days ago. The first benchmark results are now available – there can be no question of a middle class.

The HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G should actually be launched as a competitor for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G. The new SoC puts a lot more competition on a completely different processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855!

The HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G will be installed in the Honor 30S for the first time. And provide a lot of power there, as a benchmark result now shows. Compared to the predecessor HiSilicon Kirin 810, there is now 5G instead of just LTE and a Mali-G77 GPU, which according to ARM is said to be up to 140 percent faster.

The benchmark shows that the new HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G clearly leaves its predecessor behind. And the results are surprisingly the same as the SD855 from Qualcomm.

So that means that the new mid-range smartphones from Huawei and Honor will have a level of performance of the flagship smartphones from a year ago.
